About Dr. Kolnick
Dr. Justin Kolnick attended dental school at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, graduating cum laude in 1977 and receiving the university scholarship for overseas postgraduate study. In 1982, he completed the postdoctoral endodontic program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City where he received his Certificate in Endodontics. He began his private practice limited to endodontics in 1982 with his mentor, Dr. Marvin Firdman, in White Plains, New York, and helped expand the practice to Mount Kisco, developing the first microendodontic practice in Westchester County.
Dr. Kolnick is a world authority on laser-assisted endodontics and is a frequent lecturer at international endodontic conferences. Dr. Kolnick has held several prominent teaching positions, including Clinical Mentor at BIOLASE, Inc., Visiting Lecturer at Columbia University, and past roles as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dentistry at New York Medical College and Attending in the Department of Dentistry at Westchester Medical Center. He has been a volunteer lecturer for the American Association of Endodontists and has published numerous articles in the field of endodontics.
His research includes groundbreaking work on the microcirculation of the dental pulp and the effect of substance P on pulpal blood flow. Dr. Kolnick is a founder and mentor of the Endodontic Study Club of Westchester and the Lasers in Dentistry Study Club of NY. He has addressed major organizations such as the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the American Association of Endodontists, with presentations spanning the globe.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Kolnick enjoys music, movies, theater, hiking, spinning, skiing, and scuba diving. He resides in Westchester, New York, with his wife.
