About Dr. Gersten

Joshua Gersten was born and raised in Long Island. He graduated summa cum laude from Touro College and received a B.S. in biology. He then earned a D.M.D from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. During these academic years he presented research with the Feinstein Institute and the International Dental Research Association as well as collaborated on projects with the special-needs dentistry, dental anesthesia and pharmacy programs. Upon graduating, faculty recognized these efforts and presented him the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award, which was bestowed upon a single graduate each year who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements in the profession of dentistry.

Following graduation, he completed a one-year general practice residency at Kings County Hospital Center (KCHC) in Brooklyn, New York. This offered him invaluable experience in managing comprehensive implant and prosthetic cases utilizing cutting edge treatment modalities. Fostering a respect and appreciation for the diverse needs of his patients, he furthered his training by completing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Residency at KCHC, the first designated level-1 trauma center in the US. During this time, he gained tremendous clinical proficiency in facial trauma, anesthesia, orthognathic surgery and head and neck pathology.

Dr. Gersten strives to provide the highest quality of care to his patients. He believes in dedicating his efforts toward the well-being of his community through superior patient experience. Dr. Gersten continues to advance his surgical skills and knowledge of the specialty through continuing education and academic appointments at Stony Brook University Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center
