About Dr. Schneider

Dr. Schneider was born and raised on Long Isalnd. He graduated Magna Cum Luade from Adelphi University in 1987 with Honors in Biology. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and graduated number one in his class in 1990. Dr. Schneider received his training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center completing a 6-year residency in 1996. During his residency, he obtained his Medical Degree from SUNY at Stony Brook of Medicine. Following the residency he completed a one year Fellowship in Advanced Maxillofacial and Reconstructive Surgery at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Schneider’s specialties included Re-constructive Surgery, Implant Surgery, Bone Grafting, Orthognathic Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery.

Dr. Schneider is currently Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Huntington Hospital and has held this position for over twenty years. He is also Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University. He has held a teaching position at this Institution for over twenty years. His responsibilities include teaching oral surgery residents as well as dental students. Dr. Schneider is one of three Maxillofacial Trauma Surgeons at Stony Brook Univeristy Hospital and has extensive knowledge and training in this field.

Dr. Schneider was in Private Practice on Long Isalnd for 25 years and last year joined Leading Edge Oral Surgery team. He is Board Certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the America Association of Oral & Maxilllofacial Surgeons and the New State Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Schneider loves sports and enjoys golf, basketball, and scuba diving. His interests also include photography and boating. He lives in Lloyd Harbor with his wife Dr. Arlene Rodriguez, also an oral surgeon, and their two children Bryan and Ian.
